Scarborough Faire is fast advancing – in fact only 7 weeks remain before opening day. Marita Beth & I met with the captain and several fellow crew members of the Blazing Sun to discuss strategies & actuals for the necessary “clean up day” and a potential build-out of the backroom of the East Wind Games shop. Sadly, but not surprisingly, cost will probably delay the backroom build-out for at least another year. But, in the meantime, we had great burgers, great company and fun while coming to that unhappy conclusion.
Several days back, I had an idea that I am putting into place with this photo. I decided that at 8:05 pm every day (or as soon thereafter as possible), I would take a self-portrait of myself wherever and/or whatever I was doing. This will do two things. It will catalogue my life every day and it will ensure that I have a photo every day. I’ve been taking these 8:05 photos for several days, but this is the first time where I actually need to use it as my photo of the day because I took no others. So, I present the first in a series, 0805 Selfie.

I originally chose 10:31 am (my birthday is 31 October) as my photo time, but my wife rightly pointed out that that would likely get boring quickly as nearly every day at 10:31 I am sitting at my desk in my grey cell on the 4th floor of my corporate headquarters. She suggested perhaps 04:18 pm (her birthday is 18 April) or 08:05pm (our anniversary is 5 August) instead. 04:18 pm finds me still at the office; however, 08:05 pm hopefully will not. The only negative I see is that 08:05 pm is actually 20:05, but I can get over that – it’s a small thing.
That’s Captain Curtis the Red of the Blazing Sun behind me surrounded by his children’s decorations.
Cheers.

I LOVE this picture. Part of me wants to know if you knew what Curtis was back there doing. Another part just wants to leave it like it is …
Made me smile!
I saw what you did!
VAIN! >;-D
Mary, I know you don’t miss a trick!
It was me, MaritaBeth, who corrected Kyle’s headline, in true copyediting fashion. (Remember how I always say that sometimes my journalism degree is a curse?!) When I then read your comment, asking for clarification on 8:05 vs 8:50, it no longer made sense, so I simply deleted it. I suck, I’m sorry! I should have posted it, and then written an explanation. Especially, since I’m having to write that explanation, now, anyway!
As always, thanks for being out there, keeping us honest! We love you!

LOL! I expected that comment to just get a giggle and be glossed over, too.
Your journalism degree gets you. My reading disability gets me. Sometimes I never see things like that. In fact I usually don’t see things like that. But that which has been seen cannot be unseen! I have to read over 3 or 4 times to actually allow my brain to agree with what my eyes see.
I had taken an 08:05 photo when MB said, why don’t you at least take one with someone in the background. So, I turned around and took another one. I had NO idea what Curtis was doing, I only knew he was in the general vicinity. I think the photo is fabulous and it quite adeptly shows the relationship I have with my Cap’n.

Great Picture lol…
It’s like he’s the Devil on your shoulder, whispering to you what naughty thing you should be doing…
Do you need any help on “clean up” day??
I love the idea of 0805… what a cool chronicle concept…
We always need help with those pre-season projects! We’d be forever grateful if you’re available—we’ll let you know as soon as we have a solid schedule.
Thanks so much!
