Many attempts at manual focusing and macro-style photography yielded but one good photo. Yep, the one above is it; and even this one is grainy and unfocused. I have much to learn.

Well, we’re odd–I mean off–and running with this year-long project. I still need my hand held while uploading a photo, but I’m sure the procedure will eventually stick in my head. I’m a little frustrated I cannot date this 1 November, but I assure my readers, that’s the date the photo was taken!
Sitting at Starbucks last night, with friends who are so special they’re actually family, I glanced at the table and decided on my first official KRMB photo. There were four cups of coffee, three scones and a slice of some sort of yummy blueberry/banana bread. There were three cell phones. Joseph was using his to deal with an adrenaline rush-causing alert from his home’s burglar alarm company. Once the emergency was downgraded to merely an irritant, we added his phone to the table. With very little staging, and another brave use of my camera’s macro setting, I got this fun photo. The rhyme came to me later.
Starbucks, by the way, was just the last stop of many this day. Ginger, Kelly, Joseph and I spent the day fabric-store-hopping and shopping. That may not sound like fun to most people, but for us, it rocks! We had a great time foraging and scouting for beautiful brocades and voluptuous velvets. Ginger had a hugely successful day of finding fabulous stuff. We visited five stores, squeezed in lunch, and by 6 p.m. we were ready for some caffeine, and an excuse to stay off the I-635 parking lot freeway. So, there we were—lattes, snacks and umbilical cords. Thanks for a great day, my friends.

My first ever photo posting is also from my first ever experimentation with the macro setting on my little camera. (Thanks Mary!)
What remains to be seen, now, is if I can remember what I’ve just done, and be able to duplicate the process tomorrow!

Only two more days for Kyle to teach me how this is all going to work. I have never done anything remotely like this whole “blog” thing. But, I’m excited about it, and I want to learn. So, here I am.
This flavour of self-confidence regarding the computer, is very unusual for me. But, last night, I lucked into a solution to a problem that made me feel much smarter than usual. I rescued a series of Excel files from the deep, dark, super-secret-spy place that my computer tried to hide them from me! In so doing, I saved myself several hours of trying to duplicate my work in a program I only sort of understand in the first place. And what’s really amazing about this, is that while Kyle was researching online to find a method to combat this problem I was facing, I simply started trying things. Me! All by myself! And, not only did I NOT hose my computer or cause a major meltdown, but *I fixed the problem!* Yay me! So, today I got brave enough to install (install is such a scary word to me) a font on my computer. I followed written instructions given by Kyle, but the point is–I did it myself! So now–my first post to KRMB! Wa Hoo!
Next, I’ll have to figure out how to post a photo!

Like it or not, this is the first post to what will become a daily post. We’re hoping to accomplish a number of things with our endeavours here.
