Me and My Beer

31 August 2007
Today’s photo is a guest photo. It is of me, not by me.
The day started with a car that barely started. So, I arranged with Terrill to follow me to the mechanic after work so they could check out the newly installed battery, making sure that it was good. We drove through the hideous rush-hour traffice on 360 and dropped off the car with a, how shall I say it, not very sharp tool. They were very short-staffed and on the very shy side of intelligent, so we hied it to a bar to wait it out. At that point, I tried to take photos with a camera that had dead batteries. Right. Dead batteries. Seemed to be the theme of the day. So, Terrill took this shot with his camera-phone and emailed it to me.
Me with a Shiner
It was the only photo taken on that Friday.
Cheers.

Busy Day

Busy Day

1 August September 2007

Day Sixty at Bristol

All day long I blithely wrote receipts and dated them at the top:  1 Aug 07.  About five-thirty this afternoon, a woman finally said to me, “you know it’s September first, right?”  Well, actually yes, I did know it, but I must subconsciously be in a state of denial about the end of summer, because I was really ready to re-do August.

It has been a good month, all in all.  Business has been down but other aspects of life have been fabulous.  And today, the booth finally joined in on the fab part!  The weather was glorious, and the people were happy.  We were actually busy, busy, busy almost all day.  Yay!

Hence, there was virtually no time to grab a shot of anything else between writing sales and helping customers.  I shot this fabric to show it to Nicole for a customer order.

Nightcat

30 August 2007
Sometimes the days just get away from you…completely.
A massive ramp-up at work combined with a car battery on its last legs created just enough stress in the day that a photo was the very last thing on my mind…truly.
Thus, this:
cat_and_hydrant
A cat, a light pole and a hydrant. At night, no less. I’m surprised the cat stayed still long enough for the photo to be even slightly acceptable. The only reason I pulled my camera out to take a photo was because the cat was stretched up against the hydrand; as if she wanted to unscrew the cap. It was quite the amusing image, but she’d noticed me by then and abandoned her cat-stretch.
Cheers.

Day Fifty-nine at Bristol

As today winds down, the final weekend is about to begin.  I’m as ready as I’ll ever be—and it’s bedtime.

My photo today is of a road sign between here and Racine, for that little highway named after Kyle—County road KR.  Of course there’s a sign like this at every intersection of this road and some other—I really wonder if they’d miss one?

And, as soon as I can figure out where I saw the one that reads “MB”  you can bet I’ll be photographing that one, too!
