Bella Sera Cart

10 April 2009
Good Friday in the Christian world and a day off work for me.
I spent the day at home, but was working. I spent the morning on my corporate 9 to 5′er, and the afternoon on East Wind Games. The evening came, Marita Beth finalized bits she was working on, we loaded the car and headed to faire with but one small stop at CVS. While at CVS I saw this little cart that I think would do just wonderfully as a Impulse Buy station for my booth at faire.
Anyone know where I can get one of these?
Bella Sera Cart
And would you believe it, I took four photos on this Good Friday and every one of them was of this wine cart.
Cheers.

Angels Gather Here

9 April 2009
It’s been a while since last I stopped at Our Garden of Angels on Trinity in Ft. Worth. I drive by it every day, but rarely stop. Today, I did. It seems there is a new marker, and based on what adorns the base of the marker, I’m presuming it to be a child.
Angels Gather Here
Whether you believe in a god of any sort, or in an afterlife of any type this "Garden" offers solace, comfort and relief for a great many people and I applaud the efforts of the individuals who have turned this little stretch of busy road into a safe haven for memories.
Cheers.

The Lizard

8 April 2009
As I walked the drive to the house I heard a rustling followed by a scuttling and a scampering; then I saw him.
Lizard on the Wall
A, I believe, Texas Horned LizardTexas Fence Swift. I blame him and his kin for the wonderful lack of Elder Tree bugs in the yard this season. Good lizard.
Cheers.

Belly of a Bear

7 April 2009
Years ago I started buying my wife little stuffed critters bearing the name of, or indicative of, the location I travelled to whether it be for work or pleasure. I recently completed a business trip to Los Angeles, and even though she already had an LA Bear, I bought her one anyway.

Fancy Sleeves for the Bride

Fancy Sleeves for the Bride

10 April 2009

This is about as caught up as I’ve ever been—on the KRuMB, that is! In a much-needed break from sewing, I took a photo of one of the sleeves I finished while working through the night. I am very pleased with how they turned out—and they look pretty much exactly like my original sketch! I like them so well, I find myself wanting a pair just like them!

So, there was no sleep for me last night, but the wedding order is now 100 percent complete. I will present the clothes to the bride and groom tomorrow, and then on Sunday morning (the day of the wedding) I will help them get dressed. I can hardly wait, because I know I will be so proud of how they look. Now, we’re just praying for no rain!

Soon, I’ll be back in the workshop, finishing up some other stuff I need to do for this weekend. Then, it’s off for weekend #2!

Garb for the Groom

Garb for the Groom

9 April 2009

With all the minute details and hand-applied beadwork, photos of this outfit really don’t do it justice. But, nonetheless, it’s done! Only the codpiece and the bride’s sleeves remain and the whole order will be done! Woo hoo!

And, the parts came in quicker than I’d been led to believe they would, so I have a perfectly-working washer and dryer, again! That is seriously good news!

I also managed to squeeze in my oil change, some quick shopping, and a trip to faire and back to pick up the groom’s hat!

Now, for what will likely be another all-nighter . . .

Wall of Tires

Wall of Tires

8 April 2009

On top of everything else I’m trying to get done this week, both Kyle and I had vehicles that desperately needed oil changes. So, while Kyle was in an all-day meeting, I swapped cars with him, and took his for both its oil change and its tire maintenance. Mine will have to wait for another day this week, as I ran out of time. I snapped this photo while I waited for the oil change at our local Firestone.

In the further adventures of the washer and dryer repair—the technician came this morning, and the parts are now on order.

And, the wedding order is closer to completion every day!

Marcus at Work

4 April 2009
Opening day of faire season is always a bit special and a bit stressful. Thankfully, I have this man
Marcus
to bolster me. I hired him last year to manage East Wind Games at the festival and he did an excellent job. This year, it looks like he intends to keep the growth trend going. The first day was soft, but not as soft as I had feared due to the economic climate. He did a great job and I’m thankful for him.
Cheers.
