Lion Cleaner

7 November 2009
I have two little plush lions on my desktop at the house. They double as monitor cleaners and are great decorative additions.

Giant Sticks

6 November 2009
Imagine the game of pickup sticks played on an adult level with 3-foot sticks. That’s what these are:
Giant Pickup Sticks
Handcrafted by a friend, I sell these through East Wind Games where they’ve proven to be quite popular.

PubGuys Mixer

5 November 2009
Last week during the PubGuys session, we ended up with a non-usable show due to some sort of technical snafu. So, this week, I took photos of the baseline settings so that in the case of memory loss or someone else running the board, the settings are available to all.

Brand New Fuzzy's

4 November 2009
Last week we noticed a new restaurant going into a location that has been a great many restaurants over the past few years. The three most recent incarnations have all been pizza parlors. Now, it’s a taco stand, a Fuzzy’s Taco Stand in fact. We are delighted to have one so close to the house.

This was the line on a Wednesday night around 8pm.

Swollen Foot?

3 November 2009
I took this photo to see if could capture the incredible swelling in my right foot. The sad thing is, you can’t really see the swelling and it’s the only photo I took.

Triumver-butts!

Triumver-butts I

7 November 2009

Another absolutely beautiful day at the Texas Renaissance Festival. The temperature got a little higher than we’d have preferred, but I don’t think it got higher than about 80 degrees. And, true to form, the patrons were here in droves. I believe the count was over 31,000 people!

Sales, however, also true to form, were fairly average. When the park gets that full, the patrons stay in the lanes and the pubs. The stage acts do well . . . the beer and food booths kick butt. But, the crafters, particularly with higher dollar products . . . not so much. So, no butt-kicking here, just a solid day. However, there was butt-sketching!

Jonathan—the god of butt-sketching—has begun a trio of sketches (one for each of us, of course!) of we three girls that have us all feeling like goddesses!

I wrote last week about how much we enjoyed Jonathan’s work. And how much fun this is to have done. We now own three, and we’ve sent numerous people over there to enjoy the fun.  Kyle has posted a great photo taken during the sketching of Iris and Rose. And, now, I am actually posting my photo of today’s masterpiece. We are calling this series of three: Triumver-butts. The concept was born last weekend when everyone started seeing how fabulous these are, and Ginger coined the phrase “triumver-butts.” We hadn’t made a specific plan for when, so it was a totally wonderful, serendipitous fluke that Kelly and Ginger both showed up at my booth, at the slow end of the day, just before dark. So, off we went to ask Jonathan to work his magic! Ginger won the toss on who got today’s piece. The second of the three should happen tomorrow!

The triumverate is happy.

The Hat

The Hat

6 November 2009

I wish there was a way for me to take a photo that would actually show the scale of this wonderful witch hat I wore last weekend. But, I’m afraid I’ll have to leave the photographing of me (5 feet tall) wearing the hat (3 feet tall) to somebody else.

At after two a.m., though, when Kat and I finally gave in to the “tired” that was creeping over us as we worked, the hat caught my weary eye, and thus became my photo for the day.

I am at faire this weekend without my husband . . . something that never makes me happy. He discovered yesterday that he has a big, nasty deadline of Monday for a major project at work and there is simply no way he can comply without putting in more hours this weekend. He is not a happy camper. And I’ll be lonely without him.
But, the dogs will be delighted!

Cheers, Bitches!

5 November 2009

Yay! Once again, I made it to a PubGuys recording session—this one at No Frills Grill North. The session should make a great show, and I love this photo of the guys toasting at the wrap!

Dragon and Dragonfly

Dragon and Dragonfly

4 November 2009

When I took this photo, I had no idea it would be so cute! This is a shot of a plant on my newly re-arranged kitchen windowsill. The little ceramic dragon is a faire find from many years ago. I actually wish I could remember the name of the shoppe or crafter, but alas, I cannot. The little dragonfly pot edge hanger is a simple thing that came from a big box store, but I think it’s lovely and I know it makes me smile.
