Crown Royal Pool Light

16 December 2009
The PubGuys bought a new piece of equipment, a PA, that we hoped to debut tonight. As we do when trying something new, we chose Rob’s because it’s comfortable and the patrons are forgiving of us while we learn our trade. Unfortunately, the PA didn’t work, but that didn’t stop us and our PG1s from having a good time. In fact there was food & dancing after the fact.
Crown Royal Bar Light
This is a pool table light that hangs over the bar table that is right next to where we record. If anyone knows where I can get one of these on the cheap, please let me know. Poogle’s Pub at Scarborough is just screaming for one. :-)
Cheers.

Beer Bottle Smile

15 December 2009
For a long time, Tuesday night at No Frills Grill was a given. Lately, we have been more sparse and gone but every few weeks. This week, we went and enjoyed some great trivia, decent food & really cheap beer.

Iodized Salt

14 December 2009
Lunch in the Aramark-run cafeteria at the office is rarely an exciting event and today was no exception. I went through the normal droll paces and went back to my cube to eat. Toward the end of the day, as I was looking around to take a photo during one of my sparse lulls in activity, I found that a packet of salt had made its way into my pocket. I know not when nor how, but I presume during the humdrum gathering of my foodstuffs. Since the food is rarely of sufficient quality or look to warrant a photo, I present instead, a salt packet.
Iodized Salt
Cheers.

Buffalo Wings

13 December 2009
We ended up at Chili’s for dinner tonight. I laboured over the menu for quite some time but finally settled on Buffalo Wings for dinner. They were decent; nothing to write home about, but not bad by any stretch. And for some unknown reason, I took a photo of my dinner.

Silver on Green

12 December 2009
I came home from a very long day at work with nary a photo to my credit. On the bed was laid out a silver belt of some flavour that my wife will likely turn into a work of art. In the meantime, it offered a decent photo opportunity. Not as crisp nor as clean as the photo in my head, but I think that’s down to the aging of my camera.

Artemis…again

9 December 2009
When the day gets away from me, which they frequently do as I settle into my new job duties, Artemis to the rescue. She’s such a photogenic cat living in a house with interesting things. It almost always makes for a good photo opportunity, if not always a good photo.

PGM: PubGuy Mike

8 December 2009
After a long weekend on Galveston Island, I was looking forward to a quiet evening at home with my wife. What I got, instead, was a PubGuys recording session at the Firehouse Brewery & Grill in Mansfield. But, since I love the PubGuys and what we do, it was a sacrifice I was more than willing to make. We had several PG1s show up this evening which is always fun – thank you!
PG Mike
The photo is PGM, or PubGuy Mike, our colour commentator. He’s very effective at filling silence with (most of the time) appropriate content.
Cheers.

Mah Jongg & More

7 December 2009
A departure from the norm for me. In this case, I have not yet been to bed making this photo part of my 6 December world. However, I am using this one for the 7th because I took no other photos. Monday is the day we drive home from a long wonderful weekend at Dickens, so I fear my camera got packed away.
The photo is at an impromptu Mah Jongg game that kicked in after dinner at Willie G’s. While Kelly, Marita Beth, Ginger & Delaenya talked wedding things, I got to teach Jerry & Kathy the game of Mah Jongg. Let the good times commence!
Mah Jongg & More
Cheers.

Kyle in the Green Glow

Kyle in the Green Glow

18 December 2009

At the end of a great day of breakfast with friends, self-indulgent shopping for holiday gifts for family, and a great birthday party gathering for Bryan, this crazy photo of Kyle is all I had for the KRuMB. We were at Big Shots with Bryan and his family, and as we were leaving, Kyle was retrieving his bag from the trunk of his car. I was struck by the odd green reflections from the neon lights, and wanted this photo to be better, of course. But, it’s not.

On the Way to Dinner

6 December 2009
The tradition, as it has been for years, is a group dinner in something other than Victorian clothing. By this time of the weekend, we have spent the vast majority of 3 days in various states of Victorian dress & undress and many of us are just done. It’s a welcome respite from corsets and tall collars, ascots & granny boots. So, we gather at Willie G’s, down at the waterline and just a few blocks from the Tremont House to enjoy a lovely seafood dinner in the company of our chosen family. Some of our family choose to ride there in the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage, Marita Beth & I choose to walk – even in the rain.
To Willie G's
Cheers.
