Peppers

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

peppers I have a tradition.

Granted, it’s not a terribly old tradition, being only 3 years old this April. But, it’s a valued – and important – tradition to me.

Every Sunday – every Sunday – I have a Bloody Mary. This tradition started by chance, as the best ones often do, with the off-hand comment of a dear friend “hey, so I’ll see you tomorrow at my place for Bloody Mary’s around 11?”

Sure.

The tradition was born, and I’ll never look back.

This year, I’m on the lookout for a decent range of peppers so that I can infuse my own Vodka. I’m also considering a new mix recipe that I stumbled upon. In any case, the tradition continues and the Bloody Mary’s get better and better.

I love you, girls! All of you!

Back to NTIF

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

ZombieCapn_and_Klobetime Due to the aforementioned foot distress and overwhelming work-related crap, I’ve done nothing in the way of photo-taking. So, I’ve dipped into my reserves to at least get a post a day.

This is @klobetime and @CapnZombi – I leave it to you to determine which is which – relaxing at a music set at the North Texas Irish Festival on Sunday.

We had a truly enjoyable time, the three of us. On Saturday we were joined by, literally, hundreds of friends off and on throughout the day. Sunday, we just sat back and relaxed with some good music and beer, then followed that with a spate of shopping.

Thanks for joining me @klobetime and @CapnZombi.

Cheers.

Shadow of a Goddess

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

shadow_of_a_goddess

This evening was the Perigree moon. I went out to photograph it, but all my shots sucked – except this one.

This is a photo of the shadow of my own personal Goddess, MB. She was standing by me as I braced my camera against a porch post to steady it for the long-range moon shot. I was not able to steady the camera quite enough for the 2 minute exposures necessary, but I was able to steady it enough to capture this lovely shot of my wife and her shadow.

Cheers.

Ladder to Nowhere

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

I liked the colours, the angles and the shadowplay.

I have no other reason for taking this photo – other than, I take photos of some of the strangest things.

I suppose, allegorically, it could be a reflection of my life. I sometimes feel like I’m climbing, climbing, climbing without really knowing what, if anything, is at the top of the ladder; or, frankly, why I’m even on that ladder.ladder_to_nowhere

Cheers.

Overhead

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

It’s been a week since last I wrote here; a damaged foot and an overload of stress at work has me less-than-motivated for the day-to-day must-dos. I’m trying, though.

This photo was taken on a Saturday. The day dawned as normal; I got up and watched my beloved Gunners throw another game down the toilet and crash out of the 3rd of 4 competitions for which they’d been vying.

I decided I needed to swallow that bitter pill with a heavy dose of beer so I bundled up and trundled to No Frills Grill for much-desired frothy adult libation.duct_work

When I finally tired of that diversion, I found myself hungry. So, knowing that MB would also be hungry by this point, I stopped at Wingstop on the way home and purchased dinner (and another beer). While there I jumped up on a table and snapped this photo.

As an aside, my wings sucked, but MB seemed to enjoy hers.

Cheers.

Push the Red Button

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

I’m always amused by signs that mean absolute nothing.

Like this one.

push_red_button

Not only is there not a red button, there’re no buttons at all. And, certainly nothing red.

Cheers.

Ken, the Soundman

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

On Sunday of the North Texas Irish ken_soundmanFestival, my friend Mike and his son, Graham, and I sat at the Shamrock Stage and caught a series of acts. One of those acts, the Rogues, we had heard the night before and not been impressed. This morning, however, my good friend Ken took over the sound from the normal sound engineer; it made all the difference. The vocal were more clean, the piping was less muddy and the keyboards came through as expected. He’s a talented bodhrán player, Ken, but I had no reason to suspect that he is also talented on the mixing board.

Well done!

Jordan Does Some Light Painting

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

jordan_light_paints Some time back, as you may recall, Marita Beth, Kara & I did the Adult’s Night Out at the Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History. Marita Beth & I did a light painting that night which currently adorns the desktop of the East Wind Games laptop.

This evening, I caught Jordan swinging his new toys that he had recently purchased and decided to try my hand at capturing the light paintings that Jordan was making. The background isn’t as good as the one Marita Beth & I were in front of, but the image is pretty amusing.

Cheers.

Blackberry Bangles

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

When I first looked at this photo in my camera, I thought it was another in my series of food photos: blackberries. It’s not. This is one of my wife’s many beautiful items of jewelry that apparently caught my eye.
