We save undamaged beer bottle caps for a variety of projects. Returning from a recent cleaning trip at Scarborough Faire, we had a great big collection – all of which needed washing. Marita Beth in her CDO way, laid them all out to dry evenly spaced and aligned. I turned one over and snapped the photo before turning it back over. Her CDO scares me.

On a cleaning day for Scarborough Faire, our dear friend Laura came out to assist (thank you!). She brought her young daughter with her, too, much to Cormac’s delight. Late in the day, they were just hanging out, like dear friends do, and I snapped this photo. I’ve softened it a bit for effect, but I love the photo.

From the inside of the storage building where I store way too much stuff, this creature looked alien, large and foreboding.
I also find the circular reflection of my camera to be interesting, although I did not notice it as I composed and shot the photo.

Now, this beautiful creature hasn’t been with us quite as long, but he’s every bit as important to us. He was a happy happenstance and I wouldn’t want it any other way. He’s only been with us for 6 years or so, but his love and devotion is as real as his coat is shiny.

Our front yard is difficult. Very difficult. Primarily sand, we have to work extremely difficult to get anything other than weeds to grow. These two cherry laurel bushes and their guardian oaks, however, have always seemed to do just fine (if you discount the mistletoe).

One of the joys of my life is watching my wife create wonderful things. Sometimes, that joy is tempered a bit by the sheer amount of time she has to spend doing, what to my mind, are mind-numbingly, arthritis-inducing menial tasks. But, she enjoys it and no one – no one – can deny the beauty of the end result.
