Football Season
It’s that time of the year when great bar conversations cease and are replaced by “my team is better than yours” or “I have a better Fantasy Football quarterback than you.” The days of socio-political discussions are pushed aside in favor of favorite warrior drum-beating. It will remain thus until mid-March. These are the days I don’t like.
You see, it doesn’t matter, ultimately, whether your team wins or mine. It is just a game, and no matter the number of discussions held, we can, in no way, affect the outcome. I find it wearisome, yet, I participate rather than be called, and considered to be, a pariah.
I wish March would arrive tomorrow, and intelligent, insightful, thoughtful, important discussions would once again become the norm.
Cheers.
