I grabbed this super quick shot of my buddy Roy caught in an unsuspecting moment. We were sitting at World of Beer in Arlington, TX just chatting when I took this.
I really appreciate the lighting and how it worked with his shirt.

Founders Porter

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

One of the joys of my weekly holiday to Kenosha is the large variety of beers I get to try. I tried this one while sitting in the delightful MBistro behind Marita Beth’s living quarters. Founders Porter is a delightful declaration of the direction American Porters are going and is a truly fantastic example of the style.
The large sunflower backdrop is a flag that hangs on the fence and is one of the joyful decorations scattered about the MBistro.
I love my time that I spend up there, and I hate the fact that I have to come home each and every year.

Marita Beth Admires Some Art

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

At the end of a fantastic two-day whirlwind tour of bars and buildings in Milwaukee and Chicago, we ended up at the InterContinental Hotel just off the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. One of the most interesting things about the hotel was their collection of über-modern, über-cool art. This massive piece was at the end of a long hall and adorned one side of a large gathering room. We, my wife and I, were enthralled by this piece and so many of the others.
If you find yourself in Chicago, I highly recommend the hotel.

Cheers,

At the Scat Lounge in Ft. Worth

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

I had the pleasure of spending the evening with Dave and Sharon at the Scat Lounge this past Saturday evening. I’ve not been down here in years and the last attempt at visiting the Scat Lounge resulted in failure. This time, however, was different. We arrived early, took seats at the bar (all the tables in the entire place were pre-reserved) and settled in waiting on what was to prove to be absolutely delicious music. The beer was good (a decent selection of craft beers in bottle); the prohibition cocktails were on the higher side of acceptable; but it was the music that brought the night into being for me. A live jazz/swing ensemble that brought 40s and 50s music into astonishing life.
I shall return.

Three Floyds & a Dustin

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

While sitting at a local watering hole, these three bottles were placed in front of me while Dustin pranced/posed behind.
The beers were great with my favourites being, in order: Robert the Bruce, Alpha King, then Pride & Joy.

Cheers.
