There are few things that this PubGuy likes better than the beauty of a fully stocked end-cap bursting with all the fresh Summer brews just arriving.
What makes this vision even more appealing is that these beers are a direct result of the current craft beer renaissance being experience in the United States. While it’s true that Shock Top and Blue Moon are both part and parcel of large brewery conglomerates, both of these beers are a response to the vastly superior craft beers. Without the Magic Hats and Sierra Nevadas and Harpoons of the world, Miller-Coors wouldn’t feel the need to produce Blue Moon and Anheuser-Busch certainly wouldn’t be wasting time with Shock Top. While not necessarily good beers, their inclusion in the Summer beer market indicates a shift in consumer thinking – a shift that I, personally, am glad to see.
Cheers
