Guinness Cap

Guinness_draft_cap We save undamaged beer bottle caps for a variety of projects. Returning from a recent cleaning trip at Scarborough Faire, we had a great big collection – all of which needed washing. Marita Beth in her CDO way, laid them all out to dry evenly spaced and aligned. I turned one over and snapped the photo before turning it back over. Her CDO scares me. :-)

Cheers.

Jenna & Cormac

Jenna_Cormac On a cleaning day for Scarborough Faire, our dear friend Laura came out to assist (thank you!). She brought her young daughter with her, too, much to Cormac’s delight. Late in the day, they were just hanging out, like dear friends do, and I snapped this photo. I’ve softened it a bit for effect, but I love the photo.

Cheers.

Grasshopper

grasshopperFrom the inside of the storage building where I store way too much stuff, this creature looked alien, large and foreboding.

I also find the circular reflection of my camera to be interesting, although I did not notice it as I composed and shot the photo.

Cheers.

Cormac

Cormac_mixtone Cormac.

Now, this beautiful creature hasn’t been with us quite as long, but he’s every bit as important to us. He was a happy happenstance and I wouldn’t want it any other way. He’s only been with us for 6 years or so, but his love and devotion is as real as his coat is shiny.

Cheers.

Berecyntia

Tia‘Tia.
This astonishingly beautiful creature is my Berecyntia. She has been a constant companion of mine for close to a decade, but her eyes and mind are as clear, as bright and as sharp as ever. May they always be.

This photo was taken as we were gathering product preparing for Scarborough Faire.

Cheers.

Trees and a Couple of Bushes

two_trees_and_bushes Our front yard is difficult. Very difficult. Primarily sand, we have to work extremely difficult to get anything other than weeds to grow. These two cherry laurel bushes and their guardian oaks, however, have always seemed to do just fine (if you discount the mistletoe).

Cheers.

Stick Pins & a Hand

Stick Pins and a Hand One of the joys of my life is watching my wife create wonderful things. Sometimes, that joy is tempered a bit by the sheer amount of time she has to spend doing, what to my mind, are mind-numbingly, arthritis-inducing menial tasks. But, she enjoys it and no one – no one – can deny the beauty of the end result.

This is a close-up of one late night of her at work.

Cheers.

Peppers

peppers I have a tradition.

Granted, it’s not a terribly old tradition, being only 3 years old this April. But, it’s a valued – and important – tradition to me.

Every Sunday – every Sunday – I have a Bloody Mary. This tradition started by chance, as the best ones often do, with the off-hand comment of a dear friend “hey, so I’ll see you tomorrow at my place for Bloody Mary’s around 11?”

Sure.

The tradition was born, and I’ll never look back.

This year, I’m on the lookout for a decent range of peppers so that I can infuse my own Vodka. I’m also considering a new mix recipe that I stumbled upon. In any case, the tradition continues and the Bloody Mary’s get better and better.

I love you, girls! All of you!

Back to NTIF

ZombieCapn_and_Klobetime Due to the aforementioned foot distress and overwhelming work-related crap, I’ve done nothing in the way of photo-taking. So, I’ve dipped into my reserves to at least get a post a day.

This is @klobetime and @CapnZombi – I leave it to you to determine which is which – relaxing at a music set at the North Texas Irish Festival on Sunday.

We had a truly enjoyable time, the three of us. On Saturday we were joined by, literally, hundreds of friends off and on throughout the day. Sunday, we just sat back and relaxed with some good music and beer, then followed that with a spate of shopping.

Thanks for joining me @klobetime and @CapnZombi.

Cheers.

Shadow of a Goddess

shadow_of_a_goddess

This evening was the Perigree moon. I went out to photograph it, but all my shots sucked – except this one.

This is a photo of the shadow of my own personal Goddess, MB. She was standing by me as I braced my camera against a porch post to steady it for the long-range moon shot. I was not able to steady the camera quite enough for the 2 minute exposures necessary, but I was able to steady it enough to capture this lovely shot of my wife and her shadow.

Cheers.
