Happy Birthday, Shannon!
I never got to see Shannon today—I hope she got the flowers I sent to the closing gate!
After a long weekend—there was very little sleep happening Saturday night with the loud thunder and the threat of a worse storm than what we actually got (thankfully). Neither Kyle nor I were ready for Sunday when the day dawned. And we were mentally prepared for the day to really suck—continued rain, no crowd, no sales. Fortunately, that’s not what happened! The day did stay fairly grey until very late in the afternoon. But, it was cool enough for multiple layers, and gloves and handwarmers! The folks who were at faire, were happy and both Pendragon and East Wind Games ended up with better than average days!
I was honored with the news that another of my performing company members wants me to clothe him again! We had Jill and Brett visit the faire and spend some time with us. We had a steady pace of business without the hectic, multi-tasking sometimes necessary, so it was fun. And, despite our intentions of going straight home and getting all our wrap up work done before bedtime, we got a text message as we were driving up 287 that enticed us to stop for Mexican Inn with Brett and Jill. After a number of visits to this restaurant, and always getting decent food, good ritas, but less than stellar service, we finally found a good server there! My photo isn’t very good, but Josh sure was! He took good care of us, even after closing time. Apparently, he only works weekends, so that sucks for us, but we’ll remember to ask for him on Friday, Saturday and Sundays!
