I spent only the morning, today, in my workshop, and I snapped this photo while I was there. It’s a good thing, too, because the rest of the day the camera spent on my cutting table, despite the fact that I wasn’t home.
I had a delightful visit today with some old friends from faire. I pawed through (and brought home!) some lovely old fabric they were trying to help find a good home for for a friend. It was a pleasure to sit and chat and to have affirmed that there is life after retirement from renfaire!
Kyle came home from work a smidge earlier than usual, and off we went to downtown Fort Worth. We were excited about attending our first Rahr Brewery Pub Crawl. We picked up Brett; Jill met us there, as did Terrill and Brian and a couple of other friends of theirs. The event started at a place we’d never been before, called simply Grace. From there, the group went to the Flying Saucer. Then, we split up for dinner, with one third of the group going to each of three restaurants. We chose the brand new Cowtown Diner because one of our friends from No Frills Grill is the manager there, and we really wanted to support him. We were even more pleased to learn that this was actually their opening day! Our meal was delightful and we will definitely go back! After dinner, we moved across the street to Razoo’s and then finally to a smoky little pub called Paddy Reds. I could have done without that last stop, except that’s where the prizes were being given and we didn’t want to miss that. As it was, we were the last ones there and the “show” was nearly over when we arrived, even though we were on time! I think Chris, the promotional director, felt guilty about starting without us, and quickly gave us the final prize of a $10 gift certificate! Unfortunately, the place was really too loud and too smoky for us to enjoy it, so we didn’t stay long. And, it was after midnight when we got home, anyway, so it was just as well. We had a wonderful time, though. And, I’m sure we’ll do it again, when we can.
