Sharon’s fabric

Sharon's fabric

8 February 2007

It’s been a wonderfully productive day—and this is the fabric pile to prove it!  Our friend,  (and my customer!) Sharon, drove in from Houston last night and spent the night in our Mickey Mouse guest room/office.  Except for brief visits to IHOP and Boston Market for breakfast and lunch, respectively, and a not so brief, trivia-filled dinner with Kyle at No Frills, Sharon and I spent the entire day, sorting through fabric she brought with her, choosing more fabric from my own stash in my workshop, and designing Renaissance period outfits for her and her husband.  We’ve been planning to get together and do this for about eight months, and one thing or another always got in the way.  On a faire day, there’s never really enough time to make detailed plans and decisions about one major custom order, much less three or four!  And so, Sharon had decided she wanted some quality one on one time with her seamstress, and I was happy to oblige.  It was, in fact, a delightful, creative day, filled with fun and laughter as well as a sense of accomplishment.   In the background of the photo you can see the big Rubbermaid tubby that will be put to the test, but will still not quite hold all of Sharon’s fabric!
