One of the things I love about the Northern Micro-Breweries is their desire & ability to branch into the non-alcoholic drinks. I don’t know if the Southern breweries do it also, but I certainly haven’t experienced it at any of the ones I’ve visited. The Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point Wisconsin is a case in point. They do an exceptional Orange Cream gourmet soda that is better than anything that the Coca-Cola or Pepsico companies put out.

If you find yourself near Stevens Point, go visit them and pick up some Orange Cream soda. What you don’t drink for yourself, send to me. ![]()
Cheers.

Don’t forget Sprecher Brewery. In addition to their regular beers, they produce an exceptional root beer, and a stellar creme soda.
…and I love their root beer. I’ve never had their creme soda, but I’ll bet it’s tasty, too. Lakefront also does a series of sodas, but it changes pretty regularly, so I don’t know what’s currently on tap.
So which is better, Point’s orange cream soda or Sprecher’s?
I can’t speak for Sprecher’s Cream soda, but I have a serious weakness for Orange Cream Soda. So, I’ll take a bottle of the Orange Cream over a bottle of Root Beer; however, that doesn’t detract from the fact that the Sprecher’s Root Beer is damned fine!
Try the St. Arnold’s Root Beer (out of the Houston area)
Sprecher is fantastic. Their Rootbeer is great (and gluten-free). Their Ravin’ Red is a cherry soda that is pretty good, and they just put out a Cherry Cola that was pretty good from one taste.
There will have to be more taste tests.
