Today was day two, and the final day, of the mandatory training. I’ve now been through my 360° assessment and come out no better, smarter or wiser than when I went in. I did find out that, though, that I’m not fit to be a programmer and that I care so much about fitting in that I have molded myself in the shape of a corporate yes-man. Whatever.
Truth is I feel more like this little guy

This twig was separate from his fellow twigs on the bush yet still stood tall and proud and screamed “rain on me” with as loud a voice as any other.

Today was day one of mandatory training. Blech. I understand the desire of the company, I just hate that they spent so much money on something that just really was so-so. I am, however, going to take the good bits of the program and use them – for, unlike so many others, there really was value in this class.

These are practice cones that I still carry in the boot of my auto. I think I carry them out of fear…fear that if I remove them that will be tantamount to me hanging up my boots. I’m just not sure I’m completely ready for that.

We were very pleasantly surprised by a Colorado contigent at Scarborough Faire this weekend. Our very dear friend who plays the Sheriff at the festival arrived along with a number of other performers. It was, despite the overwhelming heat & humidity a very welcome treat.
