The Colors of Fall

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

I love the colors of fall!
My only complaint about them is that here in Texas, those beautiful colors arrive just a week or two before Christmas and are gone before the New Year arrives. So, we have precious little time to revel in and marvel at the beauty of it all.
These trees are Bradford Pears just outside my office window.

PGB & PGT Relax at Willhoite’s

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

19 January 2011

Since the new year, the PubGuys have recorded  every Wednesday (without me on one occasion as I came down with a nasty flu). This Wednesday, we headed North to GrapevinePGT & PGB Relax at Willhoites to ply our trade and regale our fans in the venerable halls of the well-established and well-loved Willhoite’s on Main Street. We tuck away into a corner, set up, eat a quickie meal and then onto the show. I took this snapshot of PGBryan and PGTerrill enjoying their before-show fuel-up from the elevated pool-hall.

Rusted Old Ford

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

Still sick.

No new photo.

Luckily, I have lots of photos that have never been in the KRuMB.

One fine Thursday a few weeks ago – over the Christmas/New Year’s holidays – Marita Beth and I went to Ft. Worth. I don’t recall the exact reason for going in the first place, but we decided on a lark, while starting the winding way home, to stop by the relatively new T&P Tavern in the historic Ft. Worth Rail building. After parking, I spotted a wonderful old Ford truck that has most definitely seen its better days.

This is that truck.

Scrapbooking TCU Years

3 January 2011

The first Monday of the new year, and I had the luxury of planning a scrapbooking date with my dear Stephanie!  I spent the morning on housework, and then, Stephanie arrived with scrapbooks and tool bags in tow.  We had a great afternoon looking at each other’s books, and getting lots of work done.  At dinner time, we met Kyle and Jill and Brett at No Frills for some food and libation.  It was a great day.  And, my college scrapbook is looking pretty good!

Happy New Year

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

On New Year’s Eve, MaritaBeth & I had the pleasure of seeing our long-time friend, Ron, play bass in a local Red Dirt Country band. 20101231210648 A few original songs, a few covers, and all of it was good ol’ rolickin’ fun. Ron and his band, The Zane Henley Band, opened for the Robert Donahue band who are truly, in Robert Donahue’s own words, “the best band in Texas.” I was impressed by them. But, the thing I liked best was seeing Ron play. In the many, many years I’ve known the man, I’ve never before had opportunity to watch him. It was a marvelous way to start the New Year.

Speaking of, please know that while I won’t promise to post every day – that would just lead to disappointment – I do hope to post more frequently. I now have a laptop that does not take 13 minutes to boot up, and a new Lumix camera. Therefore, I intend to dedicate more of my time to the Daily KRuMB Project in 2011.

New Year’s Eve

ZHB on New Year's Eve

31 December 2010

New Year’s Eve isn’t the same for us as it was in the fifteen years of hosting one of the few Hogmanay parties in the United States.  It’s very low key by comparison.  But, we manage to make fun where ever we are and with whatever circumstances we’re given.  This year, we were fortunate enough to be invited to a private party where our dear friend Ron was playing in the band!  Ronnie has played the bass for longer than I’ve known him, but I had never before heard him play.  The phrase “it’s about time,” doesn’t even do the situation justice!  So, we pounced on the opportunity and we had a great time.  It turns out … he’s really good! <wink>

We listened to his band–the Zane Henley Band, and then we listened to the first set by the headlining band … also named after it’s lead singer, but obviously not sticking in my head.  We toasted the New Year, sang Old Lang Syne and crawled in bed by 1:30 p.m.  Welcome 2011.

PubGuys Hat

   Posted by: crazyBobcat    in Daily

7 April 2010
Got home from an excellent PubGuys recording session at Bronco’s in Hurst (listen to it here) to find that the PubGuys hats had arrived! Well, gosh, I still had to take a picture today, so three of my favorite things get all mashed together: Photography, PubGuys & me.
PubGuys Hat
All it needs is Marita Beth & Beer to round it out.
By the way, these hats will be available for sale on for a mere $10 in the very near future. Support The Daily KRuMB and the PubGuys by buying one. :-)
