Our Pub Guys at Willhoite's

19 January 2011

I am a PubGuys Wife.  And, not only that, but I’m pretty sure I’m their biggest fan.  I’m not sure the guys always remember that, because I also have opinions and sometimes I’m not very good at keeping them to myself!  But, hopefully all of them know, that if I’m offering any sort of preference for how I think things ought to be … I’m doing it out of love and out of my belief that the PubGuys can go places, if only they’d get out of their own way! <wink>

Good show tonight at Willhoite’s.  I wish the place weren’t a smoking venue—had to shower to get the smell out of my hair.  But, the service was great, and the free happy hour buffet didn’t suck, either!  Visit the PubGuys website for future recording spots, and to download and listen to their “pubcasts” online.  It’s a fun time!

New Year’s Eve

ZHB on New Year's Eve

31 December 2010

New Year’s Eve isn’t the same for us as it was in the fifteen years of hosting one of the few Hogmanay parties in the United States.  It’s very low key by comparison.  But, we manage to make fun where ever we are and with whatever circumstances we’re given.  This year, we were fortunate enough to be invited to a private party where our dear friend Ron was playing in the band!  Ronnie has played the bass for longer than I’ve known him, but I had never before heard him play.  The phrase “it’s about time,” doesn’t even do the situation justice!  So, we pounced on the opportunity and we had a great time.  It turns out … he’s really good! <wink>

We listened to his band–the Zane Henley Band, and then we listened to the first set by the headlining band … also named after it’s lead singer, but obviously not sticking in my head.  We toasted the New Year, sang Old Lang Syne and crawled in bed by 1:30 p.m.  Welcome 2011.

The Day After the Birthday

   Posted by: MB    in Daily

19 April 2010

My birthday celebration continued into the week … after all, Larry and Denise came just for the occasion, right? <wink>

I know … they also have a daughter who lives here, but … well … I can pretend!

We all went to the Yucatan Taco Stand for lunch, and to Italianni’s for dinner.  I could have sworn there were pictures, but alas, I cannot find them.
