In lieu of a PubGuys recording session, Kyle and I took a break from our respective work weeks tonight, to enjoy our first Wednesday night at the Rahr Brewery. At the risk of spreading the word too quickly, and the Wednesday night tastings becoming as large and crowded as the Saturday afternoon ones, I have to report that we had a total blast. We kept saying how much the experience felt like the early days there, when you could still hold a conversation, and you didn’t have to get in the line for your second beer as soon as you started your first.
We chatted with some total strangers with whom we shared the TCU link, we participated in the judging of the Brewing Battle Between the Sexes—two very tasty and very different pumpkin ales, and we got to enjoy a pint each of the Rahr Winter Warmer we all love so much. We even got to have a small personal chat with Fritz, the owner and master brewer (and fellow Horned Frog). It was a good time, and afterward, we went home and heated up some pork, courtesy of our friends Vince and Terri, and had a bite to eat before I went back to work for a little while. This wasn’t my late night, though . . . I’ll save that for Thursday!
