The Press Box

4 December 2009
The Press Box is a charming neighbourhood bar/pub that is but a short 2 block walk from the Tremont. Being that it was that close and I had naught else to do, I took the short, limping walk to it and settled comfortably into the bar scene. It was here that I saw, briefly, the results of the World Cup draw. It was while sitting here that @GalvestonIsland started follwing me on Twitter, and I, her. It was also here that I found out that Galveston Island is going smoke-free on January 1. Congratulations, Galveston Island. Now, if only Ft. Worth could take that step, my bar-hopping ways would be so much more pleasant.
It’s not, please keep in mind, that I want you to stop smoking. It’s more that I don’t want to smell like your bad habit when I leave. That’s all.
The Press Box
Cheers.

AMEN on the smoking bans. Next time you come around MKE for your annual Irish Fest visit, you will get to enjoy such a thing! It passed last summer, and goes into effect June (or maybe July). I agree that’s not to keep people from smoking, it’s the smell. If cigarettes smelled like delicious cookies, I’d be fine with people doing it around me.
